Iva Lee Carter

Mrs. Iva Lee Carter passed away Monday evening, September 1, 2008 at Emory University Hospital. She had been in failing health for over a year. A native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, she attended Mississippi Southern College. She met her husband, Richard H. Carter, while he was stationed at Camp Shelby, Mississippi during World War II. When they came to Atlanta, she was employed by Express Office Products where she became the Secretary/Treasurer of the company. Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Richard H. Carter; daughters, Mary Lou Ladner of Carthage, MS and Dorothy Ann Carter of Atlanta; son, Richard Lee Carter of Eutawville, SC; brother, J. C. Lee of Picayune, MS, as well as, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 4th. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at A. S. Turner & Sons
