Ivalene Smith Nerbonne Cowan

Ivalene Smith Nerbonne Cowan of Decatur died Tuesday, April 10, 2007. She was the youngest child of Ernest and Nancy Smith of Vidalia. GA. She was a graduate of Brewton-Parker College and was employed as the Elizabeth Arden sales representative for 21 years at Rich's Department Store at North DeKalb Mall.  Mrs. Cowan was a member of Scott Boulevard Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by husbands, Frederick Dumont Nerbonne and Fred Jackson Cowan, Jr. She is survived by her children, Nancy Goodman and husband Thomas, Ginger Cheek and husband David, Joseph Nerbonne and wife Debbie; 8 grandsons; and 3 great grandsons.  Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14th , Rev. Alan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Decatur Heights Baptist Church Youth Fund. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday At A. S. Turner & Sons.
