James Pope Watson

James Pope Watson, III, passed away from a long illness on Thursday February 14th 2013. Pope Watson, a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, retired from BellSouth in Savannah, Georgia as District Engineer for the Southeast Region after 38 years of service. He was a resident of Sunrise of Buckhead Assisted Living. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Watson, also a resident at Sunrise of Buckhead; stepdaughter, Martha (Terry) Shreve; stepson, Joe Nickerson and his partner, Marc Browning; two grandsons, Christopher (Lisa) Tabakian and Bryan (Traci) Tabakian. Also surviving are his six great grandchildren. Memorial Services for James Pope Watson, III will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, February 23rd, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation. (www.alzfdn.org).
