Jane Kyle Bowden

Jane Kyle Bowden was born on September 5, 1915 in Gaston, Alabama. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sue Parrish Kyle and Luke Cooper Kyle; her husband, he is B. Earl Bowden, Sr.; and by her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Phillips Bowden. Survived by: her son, B. Earl Bowden, Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Macon, Georgia; her grandson B. Earl "Bo" Bowden, III, his wife, Marion of Easley, South Carolina, and their sons, Jonathan, Daniel and Spencer; her grandson, Clay B. Bowden and his wife, Rhonda of Avondale Estates, Georgia, and their children, Barrett and Babbs; and her niece, Joan H. Nelson of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and her nephews Mike and Cleave Bowden of Phoenix City, Alabama. Mrs. Bowden lived almost all of her life in Columbus, Georgia, where she raised a family and later worked in sales at Lerner's Dress Shop and as the Activities Director of Hamilton House Nursing Home. She was a member of the Columbus Exchangettes. Mrs. Bowden was an active member of First Baptist Church of Columbus and the Lamplighters Class until she moved to Macon,  where she became an active member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and the Adult 1 Class. Upon moving to Decatur, she became an active member of Avondale Estates First Baptist Church and the Esther Class and the Golden Agers. Mrs. Bowden died on Sunday, September 2, 2007 in Decatur, Georgia at Vista Care Hospice. Her funeral will be on Tuesday, September 4th at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, Georgia; the family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service and following the burial at Park Hill Cemetery adjacent to the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mount Zion Baptist Church's Building Fund, 7515 Rivoli Rd., Macon, Georgia 31210, or Avondale Estates First Baptist Church's Pastor's Dream Fund, 47 Covington Rd., Avondale Estates, Georgia 30002, or the charity of your choice.
