Janie Kay Grimes

Kay Johnson Grimes, 70, of Cumming,GA died Sunday, March 22, 2015. Born November 13, 1944 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Edward Keith Johnson and Janie Pendley Johnson. Ms. Grimes graduated Avondale High School 1962, Mercer University 1977, and Georgia State University 1979. She worked in the Human Services delivery field for over 25 years, much of that time in Statesboro, GA. In 2008, she co-founded There's No Place Like Your Home, Inc. to provide in-home services for senior citizens. She is survived by her three children, Greg Grimes (Rachel) of Waycross, Marla Grimes of Sandy Springs, and Heather Forrester (Jonathan) of Cumming, and four grandchildren, April Grimes, Abby Grimes, Natalie Forrester, and Nicholas Forrester. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00am Saturday, March 28, 2015 at A S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. Dr. Truett Gannon is officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
