Jean Eloise Macpherson

November 11, 1919 — November 4, 2008

Eloise Macpherson, age 88, died peacefully on November 4, 2008 at Sunrise Ivey Ridge in Alpharetta, GA. A native of Georgia, she was the daughter of William and Lucy Mae Carroll. Her husband, William J. Macpherson and her sister Jacqueline C. Ansley preceded her in death. Mrs. Macpherson attended high school in Brunswick, GA and was a graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens and was forever fond of her Bulldogs, sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta, and her time at St. Simons Island. Eloise is survived by her nephews, William S. Ansley, Jr. of Duluth, GA and Lawrence M. Ansley of Atlanta, GA, niece Carol Ansley of Yoder, CO, and her stepson William J. Macpherson of Charleston, SC. Mrs. Macpherson’s surviving family also includes grand nieces Shayna Ansley Bowen, Kelli Whitaker, Elizabeth Ansley Jeffers, and grand nephews Whit Whitaker, William Ansley, III, Robert Ansley and Charles Ansley. Eloise was one of the first female IRS agents, later was business manager of Southern Chevrolet in Decatur, GA and concluded her business career as President of the customs brokerage firm, W.G. Carroll & Co., Inc. of Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home at 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA on Saturday from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm with services to follow at the funeral home at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1925 Century Blvd., Suite 10, NE, Atlanta, GA 30345-3315. A.
