Jessie Lee Harris Stevenson

August 18, 1921 — February 6, 2008

Mrs. Jessie Lee Harris Stevenson, 86, died on February 6, 2008.  She was predeceased by her parents, Wallace Officer and Maggie Gray Harris, her husband, James Joseph Stevenson, Sr., and her six brothers and sisters. Born and raised in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, Mrs. Stevenson lived in Naples, Italy, the Panama Canal Zone, and numerous cities in the United States as part of her husband?s military career.  She lived in the Atlanta area for the past 25 years and was a long-time member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur. Mrs. Stevenson is survived by her three children and their spouses, Jim and Janet Stevenson of Savannah, Anita and Jim Patterson of Duluth, and Eleanor and Ashley Smith of Valdosta; her six grandchildren, Gene and Jennifer Owens of Dacula, Ann Stevenson of Portland, OR, Jared and Sheree Crosby of Valdosta, Jeremy Crosby of Valdosta, and Mark and Neal Stevenson of Savannah; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on February 11, at 10:30 AM.  Internment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL, on Tuesday, February 12, at 1:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Crossroads Hospice at 1957 Lakeside Parkway, Tucker, GA 30084.
