Jewel Helen Gilroy

Jewel Helen Ford Gilroy, 91, of Decatur, passed away on December 18, 2018. She is survived by her sons Gary Gilroy (and wife Teresa), of Lawrenceville, and Brent Gilroy (and his wife Laura) of Charlotte, NC, as well as a granddaughter, Kate Gilroy of Silver Spring, MD. Robert L. Gilroy, her husband of almost 60 years, passed away in 2007. She was buried beside him at Melwood Cemetery in Clarkston and a memorial service will be planned for later. A native of Decatur, graduate of Decatur Girls High School, and the last survivor of nine children in her family, “Judy” worked for more than 40 years at Southern Bell, retiring in 1986.
