Joe Clifford Coulson

October 12, 1927 — April 5, 2019

Joe Clifford Coulson, 91, of Decatur, GA passed away Friday, April 5, 2019. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, October 12, 1927, he was the son of the late Dewey and Carrie Pruitt Coulson.

Joe is survived by his two sons, Don Coulson, and Chuck Coulson and his wife, Anne; daughter, Carrie Thurston and her husband, Rick; grandchildren, Nick Coulson, Denis Coulson, Cailin Anderson, and Angela Davis; and his loving companion Prudence Petrakis. He is also survived by his step-children, Darin Parr, Danielle MacLaughlin, Shane Parr, and Craig Matze; and many more loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Klara Osborne Coulson; brother, Bob Coulson; and sister, Edith Rusden

He graduated from Webster High School in the class of 1945 and went on to serve his country in the US Army. After completing his term with the Army, Joe spent his career in sales and marketing where he excelled. He enjoyed art with portraiture being his specialty which he practiced in many different mediums. Joe delighted many through the years from family - friends to strangers by presenting them with their completed portraiture beautifully framed. He also enjoyed choral music and barber shop quartets with "The Music Man" being one of his favorite plays. Joe knew how to dress and had a flair for style which was both fun and elegant.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma.
