John Peeple Tarlton

John Peeple Tarlton, born December 27, 1924, died August 4, 2008. He was the son of Medley Sikes Tarlton and Harvey Hollis Tarlton of Anson County, North Carolina. He served in The Marine Corps during World War II. He was preceded in death by brothers, James Bryce Tarlton, Harvey Hollis Tarlton, Jr., Ned Tarlton, sisters, Emily T. Cagle, Edna T. Griggs. He attended N. C. State, Raleigh, NC. He was employed by IBM in North Carolina. He was a Realtor in Atlanta for over 25 years, and was the owner/broker of Fourteen West Realty, Inc. He played a huge part in the revitalization of all the Intown Neighborhoods, especially Morningside and Virginia- Highlands. He was witty and brilliant, with a unique voice and a heart of gold. He is survived by his sister, Frances T. Webb of Shelby, NC; brother, Ward Tarlton of Wadesboro, NC, many nieces and nephews, and Ellen Zellner, his devoted friend since 1972. Loyal caregivers were Loretta Harvard, Jean McBride, Dorothy Harvard McCrae, and Eric Wise. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A. S. Turner & Sons
