Johnny Rocker Hayes

Mr. Johnny Rocker Hayes, 78, went to be with the Lord on Sunday January 3, 2021. Mr. Hayes was born February 7, 1942, and was a native of Atlanta and a graduate of Bass High School where he excelled on the cross-country track team. Johnny also graduated from Brewton Parker Jr. College. Before he was admitted to Life Care Center of Gwinnett, he was an active member of Briarlake Baptist Church. While at Briarlake, he was active in the sports program including being a score keeper for many of the sports events. Earlier in his life he worked at the Georgia Baptist Book Store in Atlanta, Georgia for over ten years. Johnny was an avid Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Johnny is survived by two brothers, Rev. Willard L. (Bill) Hayes of Bogart, GA and Richard B. (Dicky) Hayes of Lilburn, GA. He is also survived by Billy’s wife, Nina, and son, Ben, and by Dicky’s wife, Margaret, and son and daughters, Gary, Karen, and Patti. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM and the funeral service at 2:00 PM at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, Decatur, GA. The committal service will immediately follow the funeral service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA.
