Julianne Marie Reid

April 8, 1962 — February 11, 2017

Julianne B. Reid, born on April 8, 1962, passed away on Feb 11, 2017 after a long illness with interstitial lung disease. Julianne was survived by her loving and compassionate husband, Christopher Reid, beloved mother Patricia H. Bisset, sisters (and brothers-in-law) Kristina Whittaker (John), Suzanne Butler (Forest) and Sheila Aronfeld (Lee), brothers (and sister-in-law) Alfred Dana Bisset and Peter Bisset (Mary), nephews Dustin Whittier, Bradley Whittier, and Matthew Bisset, and nieces Erin Whittaker, Chelsea Whittaker and Emily Bisset. Julianne's father predeceased her in 2014. Julianne was a graduate of the Cairo American College, George Mason University and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She was a well-regarded nurse practitioner, with a passion for helping the underserved. Julianne's sense of humor and willingness to always help others will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julianne's honor to the Lifting Latina Voices Initiative, Feminist Women's Health Center, 1953 Cliff Valley Way NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30329 (FeministCenter.org).
A celebration in honor of Julianne's life will be held on March 4, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 2773 N Decatur Rd., Decatur, Georgia 30033 (404) 292-1551.
