Katherine Killian (Kay) Marin Turner

Katherine (Kay) Turner, of Atlanta, died June 25, 2012. She was born March 23, 1918 in Columbia, SC. She was married to the late Thomas J. Turner for 59 years. She was a member of Clairmont Presbyterian Church, where she served as deacon, elder and church visitor. For twenty years she worked at St. Joseph Hospital, where she was a supervisor in the laboratory. Kay is survived by her sons Thomas J. Turner III (Alice Baker) of Pensacola, FL; Timothy Turner of Atlanta; and Theodore Turner of Santa Fe, NM; and daughter Nancy Turner Miranda (George), of Atlanta; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at Clairmont Presbyterian Church, 1994 Clairmont Road, at 10 a.m. on Fri., June 29, with interment following at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at A. S. Turner and Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Rd. As for Kay, she won't be there. She's in heaven, looking around with wide eyes and a big grin, and saying, "Joy! Joy! Joy!"
