Mrs. Kathleen Daley Kany, of Decatur, died Saturday, May 16, 2009. She was born October 2, 1911 in New York City, where, while managing a career in hotel banquet management with major hotels, raised her family. In 1967, Kay moved to Atlanta and helped open the Regency Hyatt Hotel. She moved to Roswell, when she retired, where she lived for the last 40 years. Mrs. Kany is survived by her two children, Joan O’Shea Ward of Decatur and John T. McSweeney and his wife Elinor of Baltimore, MD; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 19th at 10:30 in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Monsignor Paul Fogarty officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
