Kelly Marie Mcmahon

Kelly Marie McMahon, 27, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Her well known struggle with depression and anxiety was long and hard. She is survived by her parents Kevin and Teri McMahon, and her sister, Rebecca McMahon. Also surviving are her grandparents, Suzann Threadgill and Joe and Alvera McMahon, as well as cousins, aunts and uncles too numerous to count. Kelly graduated from The New School in New York City in 2012, majoring in Psychology. She had a green thumb and was a fantastic cook. Her desire to help others was evident in her passions involving, among other things, children and gardening. Kelly will be remembered for her service to others, including her volunteer work at women’s shelters and her work to deliver water to elderly residents trapped in apartment towers in the Rockaways after Hurricane Sandy. Kelly loved to travel. Among her favorite spots were Spain, Turkey, Indonesia, Thailand, Fiji, and New Zealand. Kelly also loved music and musicians of all genres.
