Lacrecia Ann Taylor

Lacrecia Ann Taylor (née Lacrecia Ann Bowdoin) died surrounded by family in Vitas Hospice on August 7, 2016 in Decatur, Ga at the age of 74.
Lacrecia is survived by her daughters Dana Taylor of Tucker, Ga and Natalia Taylor Bowdoin of Augusta, Ga, whom she shared with former spouse Carlos E. Taylor, Jr.; her grandchildren Sophia Taylor and Dante Taylor of Tucker, Ga; her step-grandchildren Kate Malone and Scott Malone of Athens, Ga and Richard Carden of Denver, Co.; her great grandchildren Damon Davis II and Tristan Davis of Athens, Ga; and her close friend Mark Gresham of Atlanta, Ga. She is preceded in death by her parents Milton Moses Bowdoin and Olga Hohertz Bowdoin of Atlanta, Ga.
Lacrecia was born on November 21, 1941 in Temple, Texas. She attended Grady High School in Atlanta where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She then attended Carnegie Institute of Technology and graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Studio Art.
She was employed for many years at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta in a variety of positions including Religious Educator and Publications Coordinator. She was later employed by DeKalb County Public Library as a Library Technician. Lacrecia was also a freelance professional editor.
Lacrecia was accomplished at botany and drawing and often attended native plant conferences. She loved nature and was passionate about books, reading, and art.
Lacrecia requested to be cremated and her family will be holding a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Nature Conservancy or The Audubon Society. The family would like to thank caregivers and staff of Vitas Healthcare and DeKalb Medical for their loving care.
