Mrs. Leila Almond, 89, of Tucker, died Friday, December 24, 2010. She served as a Registered Nurse in the U. S. Army during World War II and continued her nursing career at Georgia Baptist Hospital for 15 years. Mrs. Almond is preceded in death by her husband Jack Almond and son, Bruce Almond. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Robin Almond; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Jack Murphy; grandchildren, Lauren, Hilary, Elizabeth, and Stephen, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 27th at Rehoboth Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joel Tolbert officiating. Interment, Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Almond's memory to The Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P. O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01200. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
