Mrs. Lois E. Eddy 89, of Avondale Estates died peacefully at her residence on Monday, September 2, 2019. Born in Annapolis, Maryland to Raymond Swallow and Nellie Jacobs. Lois was predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Eddy, brothers John, Raymond and Dennis Swallow and sister Dortha Gebert. Together with her husband they owned and operated Paging and Communications, LLC which was the leading provider of ship-board paging equipment to cruise lines. Lois lived in South Florida for 48 years prior to moving to Atlanta to be near her children and family. Lois had a strong faith in God and Christ her Savior and enjoyed talking about her faith with others. She always assisted others in any way she could.
She is survived by her 2 loving daughters, Susan Herrold of Alexandria, Virginia and Kimberly (Fred) Wade of Avondale Estates., sisters Ethel Chenoweth of Brookhaven, Jean (Charles) Clark of Ocala, Florida and Shirley (Ivor) Elliker of New Bern, North Carolina. Additionally, Lois was the adopted mother of her “Sweet Pea” Bailey her loving, devoted, and protective Maltese.
A memorial service is scheduled at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur on Saturday, September 7th at 2:00 with visitation starting at 1:00. Internment is scheduled for Tuesday, September 11 at Arlington Park Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, well-wishers are asked to send contributions to The Alzheimer’s Association in her memory at Alz.org.
