Lorraine Manderson Barnard, 94, of Decatur, died April 6, 2013. A native of Vidalia, Mrs. Barnard has been in the Atlanta area for almost 70 years. She was a charter member of Valley Brook Baptist Church in Decatur, and was its WMU director for 25 years. Mrs. Barnard retired from Rich's Department Store, where she worked as a sales associate for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Manderson, her second husband, Jim Barnard, son, Harvey Manderson, and great grandson, Aiden Morris, and is survived by her daughter, Sonja Manderson Adams of Ocala FL; son, Scott Manderson of Decatur; granddaughters, Shannon Seaver and Shelley Morris; great grandchildren, Savannah Seaver, Brooke Seaver, Karen Seaver, Johathan Seaver, Taylor Morris and Austin Morris; sister, Vera Mae Rhiner; sister-in-law, Wynell Scott of Jesup. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Barnard will be missed by all who knew her. The funeral service for Mrs. Barnard will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, at Valley Brook Baptist Church, where she will lie in repose beginning at 1 p.m. Her pastor, Rev. Mike Roper, will officiate and burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. For those desiring, memorial contributions in honor of Loraine Barnard may be made the Lottie Moon Fund, Valley Brook Baptist Church, 1198 N. Valley Brook Rd, Decatur GA 30033. The family will receive friends 5-8 Monday evening at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
