Lula Mann Mobley

Lula Mann Mobley of Decatur, Georgia died on Tuesday, March 15, 2005. She was married for sixty years to the late Charles Dallas Mobley, retired Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mrs. Mobley was born in Conyers, Georgia, along with her twin brother, Lewis F. Mann, Sr. to the family of W. O. Mann, Sr. She was one of eleven children. Mrs. Mobley graduated from Conyers High School and received her B.S. in Education from the Women's College in Milledgeville, Georgia, in 1930. She taught second grade at Smyrna Elementary School for eight years. Mrs. Mobley lived in Arlington, Virginia, for ten years while Mr. Mobley was assigned to the Washington, D.C. Bureau and taught at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Their only daughter, Dale Mobley Miller, was born to them in 1943. In 1950, Mrs. Mobley and her family moved to Decatur, Georgia. She was a member of Decatur First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mobley dedicated her life to her family, in particular, her two grandsons, Bill and Dallas Ivey, and her nephew, Lewis F. Mann, Jr. In recent years, Mrs. Mobley's life was blessed by the addition of her two granddaughters-in-law, Jill and Teilynn Ivey; her niece, Cheryl Mann; and her great grandson, Dallas Ivey, Jr. Since 1997, Mrs. Mobley has lived with her daughter and her loving son-in-law, Reverend Louis H. Miller, where she enjoyed being a part of the Medlock Community with her family's neighbors and friends. In addition to her immediate family, Mrs. Mobley is survived by her twin brother, Lewis F. Mann, Sr.; sister, Clide Mann Ogletree; and many nieces & nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2005, at 11:00 am in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, with burial at Eastview Cemetery in Conyers, Georgia. Those desiring to make contributions in her memory may do so to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, March 17, at A. S. Turner & Sons in Decatur.
