Macon Holmes Clark

Mrs. Macon H. Clark, of Atlanta, GA passed from this life at the age of 94 on December 8, 2014.
Mrs. Clark was born September 12, 1920 in Limestone County, AL, the first child of Grace Owen Holmes and Milton Holmes. She retired from teaching after 40 years in Atlanta, GA and Auburn, AL. She was a graduate of Florence State Teachers College (now UNA) where she met her husband of 40 years, Russell S. Clark, Sr.
An active and devoted Christian, she did for others with no thoughts about gain for herself, just love and compassion for her family and friends. Even strangers benefited from her kindness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and son Russell S. Clark, Jr. Survivors include daughter, Susan Summerville; granddaughter, Jennifer Summerville; great-granddaughter, Morgan Ashley, all of Atlanta; sisters, Ann Underwood of Florence and Rebecca Sims of Athens; brother and sister-in-law, John and Gail Holmes of Florence; and many nieces and nephews.
Macon will be greatly missed on Earth but embraced in Heaven. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 17th at Northlake Church of Christ, 1625 Cooledge Rd, Tucker, GA 30084.
