Major Robert Joseph Sousa, Jr. (Ret)

Major Robert J. Sousa, Sr. (US Army Ret.), age 84, of Atlanta died Sunday, April 1, 2007. He retired from the U. S. Army after 22 years of service and was a veteran of both World War II and Korea. He is survived by his wife, Frances H. Sousa; Sons, Robert J. Sousa, Jr. of Tucker, John G. Sousa and wife Judy of Gainesville, GA, Mark W. Sousa and wife Cathy of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters, Joellen Mitchell of Locust Grove, Anna Rashid of Forth Worth, TX; brother, Fred Sousa of Oneonta, NY; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Ellen Sousa. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5th at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Atlanta, Dr. George Waschovich officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Atlanta's Music Ministry or to the Food Pantry, 4532 LaVista Rd., Tucker, GA 30084. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3rd, and 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 4th, at A. S. Turner & Sons
