Margaret Walker Bangs

Margaret Walker Bangs, 90, of Marietta (formerly of Clarkston, GA) died
Friday, September 29, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband of 63
years, Ernest C. Bangs; daughter, Nancy B. Clegg; son, Alan P. Bangs; brothers, Henry Walker, Robert Walker; sisters, Sadye Pitts, Elizabeth Williams, Lillian Beale and brother-in-law, Ed Bangs. She is survived by her daughter, Clare Bangs and her partner, Robert Duchanois of Roswell; daughter-in-law, Beth Bangs of Dacula; two grandchildren, Katie Barrett (Michael) of Dacula; Joshua Bangs of Alpharetta; two great-grandchildren, Harrison and Elizabeth Barrett. She is also survived by her nephews, John Williams of Eatonton , Jeff (Lynn) Walker of Tampa, FL, nieces, Donna (Keith) Lee of Americus, Judy (Pat) Spann of Americus, Melissa Stevens of Lilburn, Janet King of Stockbridge, Robyn Gann of Lilburn, Kim (Tom)Douglas of Brandon, MS and Linda (Chuck) Waites of Lawrenceville and many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.

Margaret graduated from Decatur Girls High and later was employed in the accounting department of Stone Mountain Memorial Association for 25 years.

Margaret enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, sewing, boating and traveling.

The family extends special gratitude to the private sitters who took exceptional care of Margaret: Nancy, Famiza, Larue, Rosia, Mercy and Margie. They also thank Sunrise of East Cobb and Kindred Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 3rd at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel at A. S. Turner & Sons. Interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Margaret W. Bangs to your favorite charity. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 1:00 P. M. at A. S Turner & Sons.
