Marian Mercer Garrison

July 27, 1923 — June 3, 2008

Marian Mercer Garrison Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully June 3rd at her daughter's home among family. She was born on July 27, 1923 in Macon, Georgia where she lived until moving to Charlotte, North Carolina. There she married her husband of 62 years, Carl Garrison. Marian taught kindergarten for 9 years at Embry Hills United Methodist Church, where, she continued to be an active member for over 30 years. She also was a personal shopper and later worked in the bridal registry at Rich's. Always adventurous, she earned her pilot's license while her husband was servicing overseas during World War II. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, positive attitude, and ever present smile. She was the greatest of mothers; loving, warm, and caring. She is survived by son and daughter in law, Tom and Elaine; grandson, Tom, and wife, Jennifer; great-grandson, Cole; granddaughter, Bree, of Houston, Texas; daughter and son in law, Kathy and Alberto Ponce de Leon; granddaughters, Rebecca and Rachel (who will deeply miss their 'Mimi'), of Atlanta. Marian loved and cherished her family and many close friends and lived life to the fullest. Memorial services will be held Friday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at Embry Hills United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Marian's memory to the organization of your choice. A. S. Turner & Sons
