Marjorie Hurst Priester

Marjorie Hurst Priester, age 79, of Decatur, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020. She was born on October 4th, 1940 in Macon, GA to Ellis and Mary Elizabeth Hurst.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Williams (Allen), and her granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth and Julia Sheley.

She attended Mercer University and graduated in 1962. She was employed by the Georgia Academy for the Blind as a guidance counselor, retiring in 2003.

Art brought her joy throughout her life and her watercolor paintings were as bright as her personality.
Marjorie was fiercely protective and loving of those close to her. Never one to be shy, she became friends with everyone she crossed paths with and quickly learned the life stories of every neighbor and server she met.

Her myriad of friends loved her for her passionate, outspoken nature and her antics always kept her family and friends laughing.
