Marjory Joyce Bennett

Funeral services for Joyce Bennett, 88, of Monroe, were held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Betty Swanson officiating. Mrs. Bennett died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Avalon Place. She was born in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana. She spent her adult life in Georgia where she worked for the IRS for 22 years. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Bennett, Sr. Survivors include her son, Don Bennett and wife Susan of Arlington, VA; son Doug Bennett and wife Cathy of Roswell, GA; sister, Mary Jo Baldwin of Monroe; grandchildren, Meredith Bennett Meadows and husband Kelly of Burke, VA, Amanda Bennett and husband David Stone of Falls Church, VA, Brian Norton and wife Tamara of Long Beach, MS; and great grandchild, Chloe Joyce Meadows of Burke, VA. Visitation was from 2:00 PM until service time Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at the church.
