Mary Ann E. Flint

October 13, 1937 — March 30, 2016

Mary Ann English Flint, 78, of Atlanta, Georgia, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Born in Philadelphia on October 13, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William C. English and Maria I. Palmisano English. She was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and worked for many years as an accountant. She resided in Philadelphia for most of her life before moving to Raleigh, North Carolina, and later Atlanta, Georgia, in both cases to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Anyone who knew her would say that she was happiest when spending time with her family. She also enjoyed musicals, Sudoku puzzles, walking on the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey, watching wildlife from her North Carolina home, shopping with her daughters and cheering on her favorite sports team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, James Edward Flint; daughters, Cynthia Davenport and her husband, Thomas, and Gretchen Connell and her husband, Jerome; cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Katherine, Bryce, Jerry and Jamie; loving brothers, William English and his wife, Joan, and James English; as well as many more loving family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Helen English, and brother, Jonathan English.

A celebration of Mary Ann's life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 15, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 636 W. Ponce De Leon Ave., Decatur, GA, 30030.

Memorial gifts may be made in Mary Ann's honor to Running Water for Legacy, which helps provide clean water for the children at The Legacy School in Kenya, Africa, where Mary Ann's granddaughter, Katie, is presently serving.
