Mary Cecile Montgomery

February 19, 1909 — February 5, 2005

Mary Cecile Montgomery of Budd Terrace and a longtime resident of the Atlanta area, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005. Cecile was born February 19, 1909 in Moreland, GA, the oldest child of Mr. Duard and Mrs. Kitty Montgomery, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harold and her brother-in-law, Vic Steele. Her career with the Federal government included working in the Department of Agriculture and the Forest Service. Upon retirement, Cecile traveled extensively and enjoyed painting; both china and oils, which now grace her home. She was a member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church and the Sunshine Sunday School class. Cecile is survived by her sister, Mrs. Kitty Steele; cousin, Frances Anne Kelnhofer; sister-in-law, Mrs. Ethelle Montgomery; her nephews, Mike and his wife Linda, Les and his wife Anita; three nieces and a great grand nephew and niece. Visitation with friends will be at 10:00 a.m. with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Dr. Chuck Moates officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at College Park Cemetery. Cecile requests that all contributions be made in her memory to the Developmental Disability Ministries, P.O.
