Mary Feagin Morrisette

March 28, 1914 — August 12, 2008

Mary Elizabeth Morrisette, age 94, of Decatur, GA died Tuesday August 12, 2008, preceded in death by her husband, James Walker Morrisette. She was born in Pine Apple, Alabama to Ada Elizabeth Pruitt and William Draper Feagin on March 28, 1914. She was educated at Moore Academy in Pine Apple and graduated from Alabama College for Women (now University of Montevallo) in 1935 with a degree in home economics. She worked as a hospital dietician in New Orleans and Virginia. In 1941 she married and became a homemaker. For 50 years she lived in the Capitol View area of Atlanta and was active in Capitol View United Methodist Church where she was a member of the UMW for many years. She was active in local community affairs and was always ready to volunteer her help. In the neighborhood and church she had many dear friends. Surviving are a son Stephen Morrisette, daughters Caroline Cox, Dorothy Todd, Nancy Anthony, faithful friend Bryan Anthony, eight grandchildren, numerous great-grand children, and, in Pine Apple an aunt and cousin, and other relatives and friends. During the past three years, she lived at Manor Care Decatur and was cared for by many dedicated staff members. There she was close to her roommate Ruth Phillips and Ruth's family. Visitation will be held at A.S. Turner Funeral Home from 6-8 pm on Friday August 15. Funeral services will be in the Abbey at Westview Cemetery on Saturday August 16 at 11:OO am with Reverend Dave Allen Grady officiating.


Interment will be at Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PAWS Atlanta or the charity of your choice. A. S. Turner & Sons
