Mary Kirby Hitchcock

Mary Kirby Hitchcock, 90, died January 8, 2012 in Lilburn. She was born in Pacolet, South Carolina, daughter to John B. Kirby and Essie Petty Kirby. After moving to Atlanta, she was a court recorder and secretary. Mary was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ralph Hitchcock Jr.; brothers, Jeff, George, William Biggs, Barron and Forrest; sisters, Mattie K. Smith, Bernice K. Heath, Ponese K. Ross and Francena K. Miller. Survivors include her son, Richard K. Hitchcock; grandchildren, Hannah and Ethan Hitchcock; sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 1:00 PM, January 11, at the graveside at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur.
