Michael Hamilton Holt

Michael (Mike) Hamilton Holt passed away on February 6, 2023 in Acworth Georgia. He was 77 years of age.

Mike was born on December 24, 1945 in Decatur, Georgia to Howard Harris Holt and Emily Almand Holt.

Mike grew up in Decatur Georgia where he attended Decatur high school and graduated class of 1964. He went on to attend Georgia Tech University and graduated from Southern Polytechnic University with a degree in electrical engineering.

Mike co-opt at Georgia power and later work there until 1986. He then had a long career at the Lockheed Martin Corporation, where he made many friends and loved the work that he did. Mike retired in 2017.

Mike was a passionate ham radio operator for many years under the handle WA4FOA. He obtained his private pilot license in the 1980s or and frequently flew out of Charlie Brown airport in Fulton County. Mike was also a huge Braves fan and enjoyed listening to them on the radio, or watching them on TV, whether they were winning or losing.

Mike leaves behind many extended family and friends that enjoyed every interaction with him.

Mike is survived by sister, Becky(Joe) Rice, of Dallas, TX; 2 children; Brent(Jennifer) Holt, of Decatur, GA and Elizabeth(Derek) Williams of Nashville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Benjamin Williams, Emily Holt, Harrison Williams, Josephine Holt, Nora Holt, and Charles Williams.

Mike is preceded in death by Anne Holt - Spouse, Howard Holt - father, Emily Holt - mother, Tony Holt, - brother, and Brenda Holt - sister.

The service for Michael Holt will be held Saturday, at 2 PM at AS Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory. The visitation will held 2 hours prior at the Funeral Home. The Interment will be held at Eastview Cemetery following ther service.
