Miss  Freida Ann Watkins

Ann Watkins of Decatur died Sunday, October 19, 2008. She was a graduate of North Fulton High School and Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s degree. Ms. Watkins received a Master of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She worked for 32 years for the state of Georgia, Juvenile Justice Department. She had a wonderful, generous spirit and especially loved Christmas time, always cooking and baking holiday treats for others. She is survived by brothers, David Watkins of Decatur, Fred Watkins and his wife Mary of Roswell; aunts, Martha Stone and her husband Grady, Virginia Watkins; nephews, Alex, Nick and Michael Watkins; several cousins; and good friends, Lily Weidman, John Parkes, Linda Martin, Randall Davis, and Marilyn Tobias. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
