Celebration of the life for Moncele Woodruff Mitchell of 3160 King Arthur Court, Atlanta will be held Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Briarcliff United Methodist Church, 4105 Briarcliff Road, Northeast. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM at the church with services following in the sanctuary at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Monnie is survived by her husband James W. Mitchell, her children Bill and Joan, daughter-in-law Marla, brother, Willis Woodruff, and grandchildren Kendal, Korleigh, Monica, Wes, and Kasey. Monnie was born May 19, 1927 in Greenville, Georgia. After attending Georgia State College for Women, she moved to Atlanta and married. She excelled as a stay at home mother for many years. Later she became the Public Relations Director of Dekalb General Hospital in a career that spanned 17 years. Throughout her life she contributed broadly to her community including active participation at North Decatur Methodist Church and Briarcliff United Methodist Church. Her kind, loving nature and her strength will be genuinely missed by all who knew her. A. S. Turner & Sons
