Mr. Billy Wood Mulkey

Mr. Billy Wood Mulkey, 93, of Tucker, GA, died Sunday, July 17, 2016. He was a native of Marion County, GA. He retired from the Southern Railway Association in 1982. Prior to his time in the railroad business, Mr. Mulkey served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a communications specialist and was a graduate of Georgia State University. He was a long-time member of Tucker First United Methodist Church. He was also an avid golfer and for many years participated in the Atlanta Senior Golfers Association. Mr. Mulkey is predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Mrs. Louise Owens Mulkey; his sister, Mary Margaret Mulkey Bishop; and his parents, Lillian and William Wood Mulkey. He is survived by his sister-in-law Frances Owens Moon of Americus, GA; brother-in-law James E. Owens of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law Erma Owens of Montgomery, AL; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. He is also survived by his former neighbor and close friend Dr. Charles Fallis. Services will be Sunday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home followed by graveside services at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Sunday. The Reverend Owen Skinner will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tucker First United Methodist Church, 5095 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084.
