Nancy Kenna Ivison, most recently of Atlanta, was born April 25, 1920 in Knoxville, TN to Louise and Jo Kenna. She grew up in Charleston, WV where she met and married Quin Morton, also of Charleston, with whom she had two daughters, Nancy and Alice Morton. Divorced in 1955, she later married M. Thayer Ivison of New York City and moved with him to New Canaan, CT where she lived until 2007. Nancy and Thayer had two children together, Catherine and Douglas Ivison. Nancy is survived by her four children; Nancy (Rebecca) Myers, Alice Hutchinson, Catherine Payne and Douglas Ivison; and seven grandchildren; Stephen and Sarah Hutchinson, Rachael and Geoffery Ivison, Brigitta and Gabrielle Myers, and Anna Lee Rose Payne. She also leaves behind one great-grandson, Solomon Grey Coker; two step-children, Linda and Jay Ivison; and many beloved nieces and nephews. We will all miss her warmth and wit, her compassionate ear for all our troubles and triumphs, and her loving support in all our endeavors. She is famous among all her family for her great love of animals and birds and her joy in the beauty of flowers which she tended lovingly all her life. Funeral services will be at St. John the Wonderworker Orthodox Church where Nancy has been a member for several years and will be conducted by Nancy's pastor and son-in law, Fr. Jacob Myers. The funeral will begin at 10 AM on Saturday, September 1. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-7 at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Rd., Decatur GA 30033. There will be a Memorial Service in New Canaan later in September. Flowers are welcome at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home or donations can be made to the Atlanta Humane Society. A. S.
