Nell Rholetter Castles

Nell Rholetter Castles, 84, of Atlanta, died peacefully at home on Sun. Jan. 10, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, David Castles, and their 5 children: Nancy (Ed) Bertram, Anne (Kevin) Shea, David (Karyn) Castles, Jane (Clell) Deaver and Jennifer Castles, as well as her sister Clara Carter. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, which she passed on to her children. She & Dave loved to travel and entertain friends at their home in Atlanta, and their mountain home in Flat Rock, NC. Nell shared her love of education and children working for Dekalb County Schools for 15 years. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday at A.S. Turner & Sons. A service will be held at Greenbrier United Methodist Church in Winnsboro, SC at 2 pm on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or Clairmont Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the John Knox class for over 50 years. A.S.
