Mr. Norman S. Richards, III, age 79, of Tucker, GA died Wednesday, May 14, 2008. Mr. Richards was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He received his undergraduate degree in mathematics from Appalachian State College and his Masters degree from Emory University. He retired after teaching for 23 years at Chamblee High School, where he was chairman of the Mathematics Department. Mr. Richards was Star Teacher of the Year at Chamblee High School and the Year Book was dedicated to him. He was a soft spoken, humorous, and much loved teacher. He also taught at Fernbank and Perimeter College. Mr. Richards is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Richards of Tucker; son, Norman S. Richards, IV, of Atlanta; sister, Leila Schuler of Cameron, SC; brother, Chesley Richards of Clinton, SC; and four nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:00 A. M. at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Ethridge and Rev. Louis Miller officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Sylvania, GA at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 18th. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1925 Century Blvd., N.E., Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345-3315. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
