Pavlos Kosta Bourgos

Pavlos Bourgos passed away on Monday January 14, 2013. He was born in Volos, Greece in 1931 where he met his wife Eleni. They were married on April 20th, 1958. Pavlos learned his trade by serving in the Greek Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He then proceeded to work as an automobile mechanic and he and Eleni had two daughters Heidi and Pam. In 1974 Pavlos, Eleni, and their girls moved to Astoria, New York to provide a better opportunity for his family. His family was his life and they were always put first and foremost. But another passion he had from the time he was a teenager was his love for Greek music, and playing the accordion. That led him into several bands throughout his life with which he enjoyed playing on the weekends, including Alpha Omega Sound, who he was with for 11 years here in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers please send memorial gifts to a trust fund set up for his wife, Eleni Bourgos to Bank America 3577 Chamblee Tucker Rd. Suite A, Box 103, Atlanta, GA 30341. He is survived by his wife Eleni, daughters Heidi Fortner and Pam Pitts, son-in-law Bill Fortner, grandson Jesse Fortner, and granddaughter Danielle Pitts. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons at 4:00 pm Saturday January 20th. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
