Priscilla Jones Harris

Priscilla Jones Harris, 63, of Decatur, died March 14, 2012. Mrs. Harris was born July 19, 1948 in Jamestown, NY. The daughter of J. Richard and Martha Allen Jones, Priscilla was a graduate of Northside High School and Emory University. She was renowned amongst her friends for brilliantly and methodically orchestrating the best parties, at which her intricate meals were served on china that was inherited from her mother and augmented by her tireless eBay searches. Mrs. Harris enjoyed extensive volunteering and enjoyed tutoring children and Brockett Elementary in DeKalb County. One of her favorite places in the world was Sunset Beach, North Carolina, where she and her family visited every year. It was a family tradition that began when she was a child and continued throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Richard and Martha Allen Jones and her brother, Douglas Jones. She is survived by her husband, Edward M. Harris; son, Charles Harris; granddog, Loop; daughter, Emily Harris and her partner, Jacky Vaughan; grandchildren, Alexis Vaughan and Austin Vaughan; brother, Thomas Jones and his wife, Molly Newman. The memorial service for Priscilla Harris will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 17, 2012 at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 1790 LaVista Rd, Atlanta GA 30329.
