Raúl Eduardo Montejo, 86 of Norcross passed away December 23, 2012. He was born January 21, 1926, in Camaguey, Cuba. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mario Montejo Olazabal and Margarita Guerrero Betancourt, brother Mario V. Montejo and sister, Ana Margarita Crespo. Raúl was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and a founding member of the Atlanta Cuban Club. He immigrated to the United States in 1968 after he had worked in the offices of the Ferrocarriles Nacionales of Cuba for almost twenty years. At the time of his retirement he was working for the Federal Home Loan Bank in Atlanta. He loved to play chess and dominos, and to read and write articles about his beloved Cuba's fight against communism. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ofelia Artime Montejo; daughter Ofelia Montejo Magid (Kevin); grandchildren, Jon Magid (Lisa), David Magid (Asli), Ryan Magid, Stefanie Magid Spivey (Trey); great grandchildren, Kevin C. Magid, Alex D. Magid, Garrett D. Magid, and Jon O. Magid. He is also survived by his brother Jorge Montejo Guerrero (Carmen) of Camaguey Cuba, sister-in-laws Carmen P. Montejo, Maria A. Quinones, Graciela Artime; brother-in-law Mario Artime, and many nephews and nieces. Memorial Mass will be Saturday, December 29th, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Atlanta. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Garden, Tucker Georgia. A. S.
