Ray Alvin Duttry, 91, of Decatur passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara and grandson, Christopher Norris. He was born February 20, 1921 in Sunbury, PA. He was the son of Stephen and Clara Duttry. He enlisted in the Army in 1940. He served in the 506th Parachute Regiment at Camp Toccoa, GA and later transferred to the Chemical Warfare Unit at Camp Sibert, AL. He was deployed to New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan. Ray was employed by H. Ikessler Co. for 36 years. He is survived by his daughters, Margaret Norris and her husband, Jerry of Little River, SC and Janet Howard of Spring Hill, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Nancy Duttry; grandchildren, Stephanie Hale, Scott Duttry, Sara Grimley and Keith Howard; and great grandchildren, Morgan Hale and Madison Hale. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. A. S. Turner & Sons.
