Rebecca Meadows Roberts

February 14, 1950 — January 27, 2016

Rebecca Meadows Roberts of Decatur, Georgia, died suddenly on January 27, 2016. She is survived by her sister, Marycharles Roberts of Avondale Estates, Georgia. Her parents, Elizabeth (Glisson) and Louie
Roberts predeceased her.
Born on Valentine's Day in 1950, Rebecca was raised in Bainbridge, Georgia. After graduating from Bainbridge High School, she attended
Wesleyan College, Macon, Georgia, and graduated from Valdosta State University with both Bachelor and Masters Degrees. Following graduation, she taught primary children with special needs in the Fulton County School District. Rebecca was an involved and enthusiastic volunteer with several
agencies and as a result of her volunteer work with Atlanta Preservation Center she was hired as the Center's Education Program Director. She was devoted to her pets and an avid animal rights advocate.
Memorial donations can be made to Lifeline Animal Project, 845 Camp Road, Decatur or Columbia Presbyterian Church, 711 South Columbia Drive, Decatur 30030.
Following an 11:00 a.m. memorial service to be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons on Wednesday, February 3rd, she will be buried in Greenshade Cemetery in Decatur County (Bainbridge), in southwest Georgia, along with five generations of her ancestors. Visitation at 10:30. A. S. Turner and Sons, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur.
