Rev. Levon Flowers, Sr. was born on September 21, 1936 to the late James M. Flowers and the late Sennie Eubanks Flowers. After the death of his biological mother at age 2 months he was raised by the only mother he knew, the late Mary Flowers.
At an early age he accepted Christ and was baptized and joined the Calvary Baptist Church in Palatka, Florida.
He attended Central Academy High School and graduated in 1995. He furthered his education by attending Florida A&M University. After graduation he moved to New York. He accepted the call to ministry and was later ordained by his father, The Rev. James Flowers as a Baptist minister. He then furthered his study in the ministry by attending the Unity Bible Seminary of Theology in New York.
For 15 years he co-pastored the United Ordained Church in Troy, New York until his departure in May of 1955. He served with steadfastness, dedication and devotion. He also retired from the Hartford Insurance Company after 25 years of service.
He moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia in 1995, where he married the former Delores J. Williams. He then joined the Clarkston First Baptist Church and became an active member of the ministerial staff under the leadership of Rev. Gary Baker. He was very active in the men's fellowship. Singing in the male chorus was his great love. In 1997 he received the Legends award for his wisdom and continued support and contributions to the men's fellowship.
In 1999 he was called to pastor at the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, GA where he pastored for 11 years. In 2008 he and Rev. Floyd Knight successfully formed the Genesis Baptist Church, where he served as Senior Pastor.
