Richard S. Hibbets

Mr. Richard S. Hibbets, 87, of Atlanta died January 21, 2005.  Mr. Hibbets was born on November 11, 1917 in Philadelphia, PA.  He was a graduate of Purdue University.  Mr. Hibbets served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired as a Major in the Air Force Reserves.  He worked for the Federal Department of Health, Education and Welfare as a public Health Administrator for 30 years and retired from the Centers for Disease Control.  Mr. Hibbets was a senior member of Druid Hills Golf Club and a member of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, Atlanta.  Mr. Hibbets was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lorene.  He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Amira of Tucker; his daughter Pamela Richards of Atlanta; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, Roswell Road, with interment following the service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
