Richard Tillman Waits

Richard Tillman Waits, Jr. was born March 31, 1922 in Luxomni, Georgia, and died February 3, 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was graduated from The Georgia Institute of Technology in 1943 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed by Honeywell, Inc. from 1945 unti1 1967, working out of the Atlanta, Georgia, Charlotte, North Carolina, Greenville, South Carolina and Long Island, New York offices. He resigned in 1967 as northeastern regional industrial manager to open Aamco Transmissions on Buford Highway and later Aamco Transmissions in Roswell, Georgia. He enjoyed his family, boating, golfing, and computers. He is survived by his wife, Mary, two sons and their wives, Richard Alan Waits and Susan, David Gregory Waits and Vicki; and four grandchildren, David, Brian, Russell, Melissa Waits; and two step grandchildren, Ashley and Laura St. Pierre. Visitation is from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening with funeral services Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at A. S Turner & Sons on North Decatur Road. Burial immediately following at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
