Robert G. Smith

Bob was born in Akron, Ohio. He spent 27 years in the military service and ended his career as a letter carrier for the Stone Mountain Post Office. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Julian and Harley, Jr. and sister, Patricia Henson. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Ruth; his sons, Jeffrey, Timothy (Nancy, and Robert, Jr. (Deide}; and daughters, Hillary (Boyd} Whaley and Kelley (Daniel} Hudson He has 13 grandchildren: Hunter, Whitney, Kyle, Jacquie, Misty, Sarah and Brooke Smith, Emily, Rebecca and Matthew Whaley, Anna, Katelyn and Bryan Hudson; and one great-grandchild, Madison; one brother, Von (Vione} and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on November 3, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Clarkston United Methodist Church with inurnment immediately following at Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in McCord Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clarkston United Methodist Church, 3919 Church Street, Clarkston, GA 30021.
