Robert Watt Scales, Jr.

February 7, 1922 — February 12, 2008

Mr. Robert W. "Bob" Scales Jr. left to be with his personal Savior on Tuesday, February 12, 2008.  He was born in his beloved Miami, Florida.  From there, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served his country in World War II and the Korean War.  After distinguished careers with National Airlines and Pan Am Airlines as a commercial airline pilot, he set about brightening the days of all of those around him with his warm and gentle spirit, his wonderful sense of humor, and his unfailingly good nature.  His sweet smile, enthusiasm for life, and his tender nature will be dearly missed by all of those who were blessed enough to know him.  He is survived by his wife, Elaine Scales; daughters, Robyn Joseph and her husband David, and Madeline Gutierrez and her husband Eddie; son, Robert Christian Scales; grandchildren Peter, Sarah, Rachel, and Grace Joseph; brother, Joe Scales and wife Rita.  A memorial service will be held at Noon Thursday, February 14, 2008, in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Pastor David Seifried officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to ChristChurch, 5720 Lilburn-Stone Mountain Rd., Stone Mountain, GA 30087. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday evening at A.S. Turner & Sons.
