Rosa Deck Lambert

Rosa Deck Lambert, age 88, formerly of Decatur, GA died peacefully Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at her daughter's home in Greensburg, PA.  
She was born August 2, 1918 in Atlanta, GA, daughter of William E. and Ola Barrett Deck.  She grew up in Newnan, GA and was a graduate of Coweta County High School.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Thomas L. Lambert, her sisters: Helen Deck, Katherine Smith, "Bill" McCollum and "Mimi" Martin.  Rosa is survived by her children, Carlyn Jameson and husband, William McCollum and wife of Powder Springs, GA, and Stan Lambert of Jacksonville, FL and her sister Mary Anne Crowe of Conyers, GA.  She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grand children and many nieces, nephews, and friends with whom she kept in touch and was available for help. Rosa was a proud book-keeper for many years with the Atlanta Better Business Bureau and also spent six years in post war Germany raising a family and working for the Department of Defense.  She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, grand mother, great-grand mother, sister, aunt, and friend and was devoted to keeping family together and in touch.  She was a member of the Columbia Drive Baptist Church of Decatur, GA. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 pm Thursday and  6 to 9 pm Friday in the A. S. Turner & Son Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA, where services will be held 10 am Saturday with Reverend Bill Kelly officiating.   Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan GA.
