Ruth Jacqueline Head

Ruth J. Head, 92, died peacefully at Emory Hospital on Sat., Nov. 3rd. She is survived by a niece and 4 nephews, 4 great nieces/nephews, and 2 great-greats. Ruth was a smart and fiercely independent woman who earned a Bachelors degree from GA State University in 1962 and worked at GA Power Co. including management positions for over 30 yrs. She was born in Butts Co. and lived in Atlanta most of her life. Ruth loved her family and friends and her neighborhood in Decatur. She also loved her dogs, most recently Summer. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and cultural events. She was a member of First Baptist Decatur for many years. Ruth was blessed to have enjoyed good health most of her life, enabling her to stay in the home she loved until recently. Her family, friends, and neighbors will miss her but rejoice that she's in her new heavenly home with the Lord. A.S. Turner & Sons in Decatur is handling a graveside service at Westview Cemetery, section 39, on Sat., 11/10 at 3:00 pm. Ruth loved Billy Graham Ministries, and memorial gifts may be made to them in lieu of flowers.
