Mr. Thomas C. Giles, III of Lula, formerly of Oakridge, TN died Tuesday, March 9, 2010. He was a graduate of GA Tech Class of 1973 and a tireless, dedicated engineer traveling around the world. Tom loved doing anything outdoors from hunting and fishing with his sons to gardening on the family farm. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and a” Hell of An Engineer”. Tom is survived by his wife of 41 years, Glenda J. Giles; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Thomas Giles of Lula, Bradley Allen and Stephanie Giles of Holiday, FL, Joshua McRhea and Blair Giles of Atlanta; grandchildren, Mason and Davis Giles; brothers, John Giles, James Giles, Sam Giles; sisters; Linda Knauer, Ginger Ross, Sharon Disse, Cindy McCandles; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Briarlake Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 13th, Russell Garner officiating. For those who prefer, donations may be made to the Wilderness Scouts of America, Inc., 1275 Chatam Dr., P.O. Box 807, Blairsville, GA 30514. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
